Some people fall in love with music. Others with color.

I fell in love with scent.

It started young, and it wasn't a passing curiosity — it felt more like a calling. I noticed things other people walked right past. How one fragrance could stop a whole room. How scent didn't just sit on someone's skin, it changed them — shifted their mood, gave them energy, opened up something dreamlike. I got quietly obsessed.

I taught myself to smell with intention. Close my eyes, breathe in, and suddenly I was somewhere else — a sunlit souk in Marrakech, a pine forest after rain, a coastline I'd never actually been to but somehow already knew. One note could open a door to an entire world. I realized fragrance might be the most powerful passport there is — no ticket required, just a breath.

"Fragrance is the most powerful passport there is — no ticket required. Just a breath."

Over time that turned into something more precise: the ability to actually read a fragrance. Catching benzoin warming underneath ambrette. Feeling labdanum hold a whole composition together, the way a bass line anchors a song. Scent became the language I spoke best — and the most honest one I had.

House of Ayla came out of that. Not a business plan — a belief. That everyone deserves to feel transported. That the right fragrance can turn an ordinary morning into a ritual, a room into a sanctuary, a mood into something you remember.
